Buzzsprout's Dynamic Content tool lets you easily add and remove short pre-roll, mid-roll, and post-roll content to your podcast episodes! This means you can add a clip to any and all episodes without having to edit or re-upload the episode files!
The power here is that it is non-destructive. You can swap out the pre/mid/post-roll files at any time to easily update all of your past episodes.
Step #1: Add Dynamic Content
Head to the Episodes > Dynamic Content tab to upload your audio files. Assign the content as a pre-roll, mid-roll, or post-roll, depending on when you’d like it to play in your episodes. The file length must be shorter than five minutes.
Pre- & Post-Rolls
Don't think of these as your episodes' intros and outros (you’ll want to add those to your actual episode audio file!). Instead, Dynamic Content is perfect for content that you want to change easily in and out of your episodes, like a time-sensitive announcement. You can apply one pre-roll and one post-roll to episodes at a time.
Mid-Rolls
Change out the content at any time, and we’ll keep your previous audio in your Dynamic Content Library!
Step #2: Choose Which Episodes Will Receive Dynamic Content
You have control over which episodes receive this content. When you click Applied to # Episodes, you'll choose your episodes by checking and unchecking the boxes. Remember, your Dynamic Content is a package deal. So, the episodes you select will receive all the content that you have running.
Step #3: Add Audio Transitions
Dynamic Content is built to give your listeners the best listening experience possible. So you will be able to customize the transition between episode content and your mid-roll content. On the Dynamic Content page, click the Transition link above the mid-roll section. That will take you to a page where you can choose the voiceover that best fits your podcast, or upload your own.
